Astronomy uses sidereal and I’ve heard in some countries the sidereal astrology is in use. A friend told me that in his native country astrology is discussed in school and more accepted. Because they use the same placements as astronomers for the constellations and planets. They say the tropical system is off by over 20 degrees in the constellations and also planet placements. Tropical has the moon placement wrong by over 20 degrees!
No. Why would they teach old superstitions in school?

No, they shouldn’t it’s not something that kids need to know about.
Astrology could be an optional class but it’s not a necessary class.

Why not? In one of my schools, they had a wicca class. I think there are already schools who teach astrology. Otherwise, we would have not had astrologers.
Your friend did a mistake. Here is the main line “The difference between the Vedic and the Western zodiacs is currently around 24 degrees.” Wikipedia
Now sidereal astrology is practiced in some parts of the world and yep, the Indian astrologers mainly use it. Also they say its all very accurate, but again look at these lines:
“While the practitioners of Hindu astrology claim to be practicing astrology according to the true constellational placements of the planets, Sun, Moon, etc., this is not strictly true. The zodiacal constellations are not organized into neat packets of stars that cover exactly 30 degrees of the ecliptic. The zodiacal constellations are irregular. Thus, when Linda Johnsen, a respected American Vedic astrologer, says, in her book A Thousand Suns, in essence that what you see is what you get, this is not really true. The ayanamsa does take the heavenly bodies back to a much closer place in the actual constellations, but it is not the whole story. Diana K. Rosenberg has done considerable work and writing on this.” Wikipedia

IT WOULD BE AWESOME! But sadly no because of the type of parent that make a HUGE deal out of everything. Some will say it goes against there child’s religion.
Some will say it’s teaching there kids devil worship (my religious friend said I was leaning more towards the devil b/c of astrology so it’s possible)
and others will complain that they don’t want there hard earn tax dollars going to useless subjects (these are the same people who if they have a choice wouldn’t pay for school funds in the first place)
great idea as a club though

I would have loved to go to school everyday if they had Astrology class in my high school. But sadly they didn’t. =[
